Stephen Dillane

Stephen Dillane trained at the Bristol Old Vic and worked in Coventry, Manchester and Chester before performing at London's Royal National Theatre in "THE BEAUX'S STRATAGEM" (Archer), "DANCING AT LUGHNASA" (Gerry Evans), "LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT" (Edmund Tyrone) and "ANGELS IN AMERICA" (Prior Walter in "MILLENNIUM APPROACHES" and Declan Donnellan in "PERESTROIKA.") He also was seen as Tony at the Royal Court in "HUSH" and as Clov at the Donmar Warehouse in "ENDGAME." Most notably his performance of the title role in Peter Hall's production of "HAMLET" at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End garnered him extraordinary notices and widespread acclaim. Mr. Dillane's T.V. work includes the Central series "THE ONE GAME"; Channel 4's "BY HERSELF" and "THE RECTOR'S WIFE"; ABC/Anglia's "FRANKIE'S HOUSE"; and such BBC shows as "AN AFFAIR IN MIND," "THE YELLOW WALLPAPER," "HEADING HOME," "YOU, ME AND IT," "THE WIDOWING OF MRS. HOLROYD," as well as the BBC series "CHRISTABEL." On the big screen, Mr. Dillane played Horatio in Franco Zeffirelli's "HAMLET," Charles in William Nicholson's "FIRELIGHT," co-starred with Sandra Bullock in Bill Bennett's "TWO IF BY SEA" (U.K. "STOLEN HEARTS"), and co-stars with Woody Harrelson in Miramax's soon to be released "SARAJEVO," directed by Michael Peterson.
