Greta Scacchi answers some questions about "Alice Palmer"

Since graduating from the BRISTOL OLD VIC THEATRE SCHOOL in 1982 Greta has played countless roles on stage and screen. After her stunning debut in James Ivory's "HEAT AND DUST" she starred in two exquisite plays for British television; "THE EBONY TOWER" with Laurence Olivier and "DR. FISCHER OF GENEVA" with Alan Bates and James Mason

In the years that followed she starred in numerous European and Australian films including Dusan Makaveyev's "COCA-COLA KID," the Taviani brothers' "GOOD MORNING BABYLON," Michael Radford's "WHITE MISCHIEF," Diane Kurys' "A MAN IN LOVE" and Graeme Clifford's "BURKE AND WILLS."

In 1990 she came to America for two years and starred in Alan Pakula's "PRESUMED INNOCENT," Gilliam Armstrong's "FIRES WITHIN," Wolfgang Petersen's "SHATTERED" and Robert Altman's "THE PLAYER."Ê Greta then returned to the theatre where Michael Blakemore's "UNCLE VANYA" was a West-End hit. Other successes in England and Australia include "A DOLL'S HOUSE," "MISS JULIE," Sam Shepard's "SIMPATICO" and Noel Coward's "EASY VIRTUE."Ê More recent films include Mike Figgis' "THE BROWNING VERSION," James Ivory's "JEFFERSON IN PARIS," Doug McGrath's "EMMA" (In the same year she won a Golden Globe for the miniseries "RASPUTIN"), Francois Girard's "THE RED VIOLIN," Kate Woods' "LOOKING FOR ALIBRANDI," Ismail Merchant's "COTTON MARY" and Karl Francis' "ONE OF THE HOLLYWOOD TEN" with Jeff Goldblum.

Ms. Scacchi grew up in Italy, England and Australia and can't make her mind up where to settle down.Ê She hasÊ a nine year old daughter and a three year old son.
