Jon Robin Baitz, one of the theatre's outstanding playwrights, makes his acting debut in "LAST SUMMER IN THE HAMPTONS." His plays have been produced in New York, Los Angeles and at regional theatres around the country and abroad and include: "THE FILM SOCIETY," "DUTCH LANDSCAPE," "THE SUBSTANCE OF FIRE," "THE END OF THE DAY" and this year, "THREE HOTELS." He is a recipient of Rockefeller, Revson and National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, an American Academy of Arts & Letters Award and The Humanitas Prize for the television version of "THREE HOTELS," which he also directed. Mr. Baitz's newest play, "A FAIR COUNTRY," will be presented by Lincoln Center Theatre in New York next season. He is currently working (in collaboration with Mr. Jaglom) on a screenplay about Hollywood in the 1970's. His screenplay for "SUBSTANCE OF FIRE" has just been filmed by Dan Sullivan, stars Ron Rifkin and will be released by Miramax next year.
