Veteran child actor Roddy McDowall's breakthrough role was in John Ford's "HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY" opposite Walter Pidgeon and Maureen O'Hara. 1942's "ON THE SUNNY SIDE" was the first film structuring Mr. McDowall as a star and was followed by the highly successful "MY FRIEND FLICKA," "THUNDERHEAD, SON OF FLICKA," "LASSIE COME HOME" and "THE WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER," among countless others. His adult work on Broadway includes "MISALLIANCE," "NO TIME FOR SERGEANTS," "COMPULSION" and "CAMELOT." He played Octavian in the American Shakespeare Festival production of "JULIUS CAESAR" ( a role he assumed again in the film epic "CLEOPATRA") and Ariel in "THE TEMPEST." In 1968 he debuted as a film director with "TAM LIN," starring Ava Gardner. McDowall has also had a successful second career as a photographer and has published numerous books of his work, beginning with "DOUBLE EXPOSURE."
